wastewater treatment
Water and wastewater treatment form a fundamental part of the water cycle worldwide. Sources of fresh water (ground, lake, river etc) require increasingly more treatment to deliver wholesome drinking water to a population. After use (domestic or industrial) the wastewater requires treatment to remove pollutants prior to discharge into a receiving body.
HYDRA members have expertise in a range of water and wastewater treatment technologies applicable to developed and less developed areas of the world. Research is often undertaken with the UK water industry to improve treatment technologies and deal with sustainability issues.
Specific expertise is available winthin HYDRA in the following areas:
- Coagulation and filtration processes
- Humic substance breakdown and removal
